Planning Your Trip

Competition venue
The event will take place at the Aichi Budokan in Nagoya, Japan
Airport
There are many ways to get to Nagoya, Japan. We recommend searching for flights to Tokyo either to the Narita or Haneda airport or flight to the Osaka airport as flights are more affordable to these destinations than flying directly to Nagoya.
Transportation
From Tokyo to Nagoya you can take a 90 minutes Bullet Train for around $75.00 USD.
From Osaka to Nagoya you can take a 50 minutes Bullet Train for around $50.00 USD.
You can use this site CLICK HERE to get more terrestrial transportation information or you can Google flights from Tokyo to Nagoya or Osaka to Nagoya and travel inside of Japan for much cheaper than trying to book an international flight straight to Nagoya.
Hotels
Nagoya has many hotels, but we do recommend booking as soon as possible as prices will increase closer to the event days.
We recommend getting a hotel closer to the station as that is where most of the attractions are.
Tourist Attractions
Japan is a beautiful country rich in history, culture and must see attractions with both historic and contemporary landmarks. We highly encourage individuals traveling to the SJJIF Worlds to take advantage of the opportunity to explore the land of the Samurai and all that Japan has to offer. If time permitting in your travel plans we highly encourage that besides exploring the local attractions of Nagoya you expand your exploration to Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto!
